The Defence School Mentor (DSM) Program is funded by the Department of Defence, through the Defence Member and Family Support (DMFS) Branch, to facilitate the best possible educational outcomes for dependants of ADF members and to provide support during absences for service reasons.
Activities performed by the DSM include:
- being a point of contact for parents of new ADF children into the school
- introducing ADF parents and families to the school, its facilities and other Defence families
- coordinating appropriate welcome and farewell activities
- supporting individual children during parental absences
- enhancing the relationship between the school and their Defence community.
Our school's DSM is Rachel Birkmyre and she is available Wednesdays and Thursdays during school time or by email at: rachel.birkmyre2@det.nsw.edu.au
